The National Weather Service predicts an increased risk of flooding this week.
Rain totals from Tuesday through Thursday will be 1 to 2 inches over western and much of central Iowa.
Above freezing temperatures will cause the existing snow to melt. Snowmelt and rain will lead to increasing likelihood of river and stream flooding and ice jams later this week through this weekend.
Strong, gusty winds will develop later Thursday into Friday, with light snow possible late Thursday.
